M I N D F U L

Daily reminders to practice being present. Proceeds donated to organizations raising awareness around the importance of mental health within the AAPI community.

I've been making space to process my feelings around the ongoing anti-Asian violence. Doom-scrolling has triggered my anxiety and it’s really exhausting to process all my emotions.

Growing up as a Korean American, mental health was rarely discussed in my family. My grandfather and father survived through some traumatic times. They experienced the hardships of war and immigration. Each processed emotional pain, anxiety, and stress in unhealthy ways and in my culture, drinking was a common form of coping.

I personally struggle with cycles of anxiety, and I’m now aware of its significant impact on my mental health. However, seeking therapy has been so stigmatized in my culture. I hope to create a safe space to normalize conversations around the benefits of seeking mental health support and adopt healthier ways to manage anxiety and stress.

I believe mental health is an investment and not an expense.

With the goal to raise awareness around the importance of mental health within the AAPI community.

I’d like to announce the launch of an initiative called,

"M I N D F U L"

I created the M I N D F U L collection as daily reminders to practice being more present, whether it be through breathwork, meditation, finding community, therapy and more.

100% of the proceeds from the first production run of our t-shirts and a portion of proceeds from other products in the collection, will be donated to the Asian Mental Health Collective, a non-profit organization with a mission to normalize and de-stigmatize mental health and making it more accessible within the AAPI community.

The use of breathing techniques can be useful in the reduction of anxiety and stress.

This breathwork exercise, called box breathing, may help you relax and clear your mind.

Inhale for 4 seconds. Hold your lungs full of air for 4 seconds, then exhale for 4 seconds. Hold your lungs empty for 4 seconds and repeat.

The M I N D F U L collection acts as daily reminders to practice being more present, whether it be through breathwork, meditation, finding community, therapy, and more.

The [4] box breathing exercise may help to clear the mind, relax the body, and improve focus.

The process of inhaling and exhaling references the Yin and Yang as a way to achieve balance in your every day life.

I designed the M I N D F U L collection as daily reminders to practice being more present, whether it be through breath-work, meditation, finding community, therapy, and more.

With a renewed focus on personal growth from investing in my own mental health journey, I’m hopeful others find courage in vulnerability and feel empowered to share.
